1. Who We Are
The JCove platform is operated by daflash LLC ("daflash," "we," "us," or "our"). For all privacy-related inquiries: jcove@daflash.com
JCove is a closed, trust-based Jewish dating network serving members in the United States. This Privacy Policy applies to all users of the JCove website, platform, and related services.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
- Identity information: First name, last name, age range, city of residence;
- Contact information: Email address, mobile phone number;
- Social profiles: Facebook and/or LinkedIn profile URLs, if voluntarily provided;
- Referral information: The name of the person who referred you, if provided;
- Profile content: Any information you include in your member profile;
- Tzedakah preference: Your chosen charitable recipient organization;
- Payment information: Processed directly by our payment processor — we do not store full card numbers on our servers;
- Communications: Any messages you send to our support team at jcove@daflash.com.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Log data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, time and date of visits, referring URL;
- Device information: Device type, operating system, screen resolution;
- Usage data: How you interact with the platform, features used, session duration;
- Cookies: Session and analytics cookies (see Section 7).
2.3 Information from Third Parties
- Guarantors: When existing members sponsor your application, they confirm their personal knowledge of you. This confirmation is recorded;
- SMS verification: Confirmation of your phone number through our SMS provider;
- Analytics: Aggregated and anonymized usage data through Google Analytics 4.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information exclusively to:
- Process and evaluate your membership application;
- Verify your identity via SMS OTP;
- Operate and maintain your member account;
- Facilitate matches and phone number exchanges between consenting members;
- Process subscription payments and allocate Tzedakah contributions;
- Send transactional communications (admission status, match notifications, billing receipts);
- Respond to support inquiries;
- Improve the platform through aggregated, anonymized analytics;
- Comply with legal obligations;
- Enforce our Terms of Service and protect the safety of the community.
We do not use your data for advertising. We do not build advertising profiles. We do not sell or license your data to any third party.
4. Legal Bases for Processing
We process your personal data on the following legal bases:
- Contract performance: Processing necessary to provide the Service you have subscribed to;
- Legitimate interests: Platform security, fraud prevention, service improvement;
- Legal obligation: Compliance with applicable law;
- Consent: Analytics cookies and optional profile fields, where consent is obtained.
5. Information Sharing
We share your information only in the following limited circumstances:
5.1 With Other Members — Consent Required
Your mobile phone number is shared with another member only upon mutual, explicit, affirmative consent through the match confirmation screen. No phone number is disclosed without both parties confirming. No other personal information is shared with other members without your consent.
5.2 With Service Providers
We use a small number of carefully selected service providers who process data on our behalf under strict data processing agreements:
- Payment processor: To handle subscription billing securely;
- SMS provider: To deliver OTP verification and match notifications;
- Cloud infrastructure: To host the platform;
- Analytics: Google Analytics 4, configured with IP anonymization.
These providers may not use your data for any purpose other than providing services to JCove.
5.3 Legal Requirements
We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the safety of any person, prevent fraud, or protect our legal rights.
5.4 Business Transfers
In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or substantially all assets of daflash LLC, member data may be transferred as part of the transaction. We will notify members in advance and members will retain their rights under this Privacy Policy.
6. Data Retention
- Active accounts: Retained for the duration of membership plus 90 days following termination;
- Billing records: Retained for seven (7) years as required by applicable law;
- Phone numbers of banned members: Retained indefinitely to prevent re-registration;
- Waitlist submissions: Retained for up to 24 months or until admission/rejection, then deleted;
- Support communications: Retained for three (3) years.
7. Cookies
JCove uses the following types of cookies:
- Strictly necessary cookies: Required for the platform to function. Cannot be disabled;
- Analytics cookies: Google Analytics 4, used to understand how visitors interact with the site. IP addresses are anonymized. You may opt out via browser settings or the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on.
We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party behavioral analytics.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data;
- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal retention obligations;
- Portability: Request your data in a structured, machine-readable format;
- Restriction: Request that we restrict processing of your data in certain circumstances;
- Objection: Object to processing based on legitimate interests.

California residents: You have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know, the right to delete, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. JCove does not sell personal information.
9. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal data, including:
- Encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest;
- Access controls limiting data access to authorized personnel only;
- Regular security reviews and vulnerability assessments;
- Audit logging of all critical system events.
No system is perfectly secure. In the event of a data breach affecting your rights, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
10. Children's Privacy
JCove is not intended for, and does not knowingly collect data from, persons under the age of 18. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a minor, we will delete it promptly. 11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to active members by email at least fourteen (14) days before taking effect. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
